When I am stuck, feeling blocked being in nature really opens my mind. Also just going for a drive where there is wide open spaces, a country road. It's like the movement synchronises with the movement of my mind.
Pausing and stillness is an incredibly difficult thing to do in a world that is on the go 24/7. I've been training in somatics the past year and at first I couldn't cope with being still -I was horrified but I think a testament to how rattled our nervous systems are
I’m going to sound like an old fart here but I’ve discovered gardening and wow! The physical side of it feels like it’s doing me good and I find the brain clearing almost as good as running. I work from home and find myself wandering outside to peek at the new seedlings and give myself a different perspective/bit of stress relief for 5 mins 🤍🤍
Ideas come when on a beach walk, or a mooch around shops on a weekend away. Deffo shower too!
